LAFAYETTE 148 NY AT NORDSTROM, SAN DIEGO X DEANNA FIRST ILLUSTRATIONS by Deanna First

Proud to announce my very first event with Lafayette 148 New York this past week at Nordstrom UTC in San Diego on March 15th. Their Spring 2018 Collection is inspired by the power and confidence of women artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe, Helen Frankenthaler and Joan Mitchell. I am beyond honored to be a part of their #WomenArtists series.

BLOOMINGDALE'S VALENTINE'S DAY X DEANNA FIRST LIVE SKETCH  by Deanna First

With Valentine's Day around the corner Bloomindale's Roosevelt Field reached out for me to live sketch customers! I was pleased to be back again and see all of my favorite customers and employees. I love when I recognize familiar faces from my past events! They had the option of getting a custom fashion illustration of themselves or their loved ones on a card or an 8.5" X 11" paper.

The copic markers still have a watercolor vibe to them which always adds a bit of depth to my artwork. I sometimes use mini crystals or pearls to further embellish the illustrations and add an extra pop! They take roughly 5-8 minutes to complete depending on how many people are sketched.

Love seeing familiar faces!

Love seeing familiar faces!

In addition to my custom Valentine's sketches there was also a mime passing out heart shaped balloons and delectable chocolates. Looking forward to partnering with them for their next event in the future! Keep a lookout at their Huntington and Roosevelt Field locations.

Bloomingdales X Deanna First Illustrations by Deanna First

I was honored to be asked by Bloomingdales to live sketch in their cosmetics department at two of their locations this past week! I attended their Roosevelt Field location on the 9th and then headed to Huntington on the 11th from 1-4pm both days.

Customers had the option of receiving their desired beauty look sketched or a full body fashion illustration where they carried Bloomingdales signature brown bags!

Each sketch takes roughly 5 minutes to bring to life depending on how many people and outfit preference of customer.

I use Copic Markers, colored pencil and crystals for an extra sparkle! Live sketching is one of my favorite things about my career as a fashion and beauty illustrator. It gives me the opportunity to meet SO many people and introduce them to the craft of beauty illustration.

I'm always pleased to see returning customers and even more thrilled when they tell me they have my sketches framed in their homes. :) Thanks Lindsay and the rest of the team for being so accommodating! #DeannaFirst #Bloomingdales
