Illustrator Deanna First was commissioned by Ayah, a Moroccan restaurant in the heart of SoHo, New York to create their vibrant menu cover artwork to capture the beauty and architecture of Morocco.

This hand-painted watercolor illustration captures the soul of Ayah. Inspiration was drawn from swaying palm trees, saffron flowers, orange blossoms, orchids, warm terracottas, turquoise mosaic tiles and native birds soaring throughout the sky to add movement and life to the illustration.
